Casterton is fortunate to have excellent sporting facilities. We have an artificial hockey pitch with pitch side pavilion and changing, an indoor swimming pool, 4 hard tennis courts,3 netball courts and two grass lacrosse pitches, a 300m athletics track and a riding school.

We believe sport is an essential part of a school curriculum and the department aim is:-

"To provide every student with the opportunity to fulfil their potential through enjoyable, exciting and educationally challenging activities. To give every student the confidence to develop a lifelong love and appreciation of sport and physical activities."

Curriculum lessons broadly encompass the following activities.

Preparatory School:-Athletics, Movement and Gymnastics, Cross Country, Hockey, Netball, Lacrosse, Rugby, Football, Short Tennis, Rounders, Cricket, Swimming.

Senior School: Years 7-11:-Athletics,Gymnastics,Cross Country, Netball, Hockey, Lacrosse, Swimming, Rounders, Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Fitness, Football.

Sixth Form: Years 12 and 13:-All the above plus, Aerobics, Table Tennis, Parachute games and leadership in sport activities.

The school aims to involve every student in the many facets of sport regardless of ability.

Every student has the opportunity to play in intra school matches and competitions. The school regularly participates in matches, tournaments and competitions at both Local, Regional and National levels. As well as providing opportunities for all students to play and compete there are performance pathways to allow elite performers to progress to international standards.

Present students and recent leavers are at present representing their country in Hockey and Lacrosse.

Girls have the opportunity to study PE at GCSE,AS and A2 level.
