A leading independent day and boarding school near Kirkby Lonsdale
for boys from 3-11 years and girls from 3-18 years

About Us

Casterton is set in the stunning Lune Valley. The river Lune passes through charming old villages and lush fields bordered by high hedges and distinctive dry stone walls.

Just a few miles from the School is the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, a busy and entertaining place for the Senior girls to visit. It has an array of 18th century buildings; picturesque stone cottages are clustered around cobbled courtyards, whilst narrow alleyways accommodate cafés and restaurants alongside jewellery and fashion shops.

Casterton School is located on the border of two national parks, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, in one of the most beautiful regions of the United Kingdom. Much of the area is mountainous, with the highest point of the Lake District (and of England) being Scafell Pike. A wide range of outdoor activities awaits.
